I read the other day that now babies can hear in the womb, it might be good to start playing nursery rhymes to them at night time before you go to sleep. Apparently they can feel Mama relaxing and therefore begin to realise that it’s time for them to sleep. This then carries on once they are born, as it’s thought babies can remember stuff from in the womb for the first four months of their lives. I’m not so sure if it’s true but we have decided to start playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star every night from YouTube.
I’m yet to be convinced if it’s working to be honest, as Baby D seems to get more excited once the music starts and actually moves around for a good 10-15 minutes once the song is over and I’m lying trying to get to sleep. I think I feel more relaxed than he does! I’ve also mentioned this to a few parents and they just look at me with a knowing smile as if saying “Don’t kid yourself girl!” so I won’t get my hopes up too much that it will work!
Are/Did any of you try this and did it work or was it a waste of time?
